Cash From Online College Teaching Jobs

If you are an adjunct college instructor, the chances are pretty good that you are struggling with your bills, so why not take the time to start applying for the numerous online college teaching jobs and earn a decent income? With all of the state-level budget cuts to post secondary academic institutions, most adjuncts are finding that their traditional classes contain more and more students without a corresponding increase in the amount being paid by the traditional schools to teach the additional students. The result is that a college teacher is having a difficult time paying the bills, and if a college adjunct is forced by geographic demands to travel by personal vehicle to multiple traditional campuses to teach enough classes to actually pay for the maintenance of the car or truck, then the economic problem is increased to an almost unsupportable level.

The solution, as suggested at the beginning of this post, is to confront the realities of the academic landscape and start applying to accredited online degree programs immediately in order to teach students enrolled in the various online college degree programs. The new and returning college students are in need of teachers with earned master’s degrees in core curriculum subjects, which include Developmental English composition, history and psychology. Needless to say, the student populations are soaring in these classes because every college student has to take these classes as they matriculate to an online bachelor degree. It is these core classes that make up the real market for any college adjunct seeking to earn a living wage from online adjunct faculty positions with a distance education university.

Granted, as a current adjunct you already know that student populations are skyrocketing because of the unemployment crisis, but you may not know that there is a way for you to actually transform yourself from a low paid academic laborer into a well paid academic entrepreneur. For example, if you earned a graduate degree or a terminal degree, you have a skill set that is in high demand. After all, the community colleges, state colleges and universities and for-profit schools need accreditation from the various accreditation boards in order to offer their students federal financial aid. In order to be accredited, the schools must have qualified instructors in their classrooms, both on-ground and on line. That’s where you, the online adjunct, come in and help both the students and the academic institutions.

However, no matter how much you help both parties, you will still be stuck in a low paid position, which means you will be marginalized for even having a graduate degree, unless you figure out how to teach multiple on line college courses for multiple online degree programs. If you can teach yourself how to find and apply for many online college teaching jobs, you can earn cash from each one simply by teaching the basic courses from your personal computer. Imagine how much better your personal life can be with multiple income streams, which is entirely possible if you start applying to teach for online bachelor degree programs.
